The state of Florida has recently launched a new program to make homeownership more affordable for eligible frontline community workers such as law enforcement officers, firefighters, educators, healthcare professionals, childcare employees, and active military or veterans. This program offers closing cost and down payment assistance for first time income-qualified home buyers so they can purchase a home in the community where they serve.

Some of the key benefits of this program include:

  Eligibility for lower than market rates on FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, or Freddie Mac mortgages

• Reduced upfront fees, no origination points, and assistance with closing costs

• Eligible borrowers can receive up to 5% of their mortgage loan amount (up to $25,000) in down payment and closing costs
