Home Buyers Are Still Very Active
One of the biggest arguments against selling your home in 2023 is that there is a lack of buyer demand. Homeowners are afraid that factors like inflation and rising interest rates are keeping potential buyers out of the market, but this simply isn’t true. Buyer demand has decreased from the record levels that it hit during 2020-2022, but now that the market has normalized after the pandemic and rock bottom interest rates people are still shopping for homes more than they did before the pandemic. Take a look at the graph below to see the statistics:
This graph represents the ShowingTime Showing Index, a metric used to measure the number of home showings by buyers all around the country for the month of June. The score for 2023 is over 60 points higher than any of the years leading up to the market shift, showing that buyers are becoming accustomed to the new normal of higher rates and are not letting that stop them from moving. There is still a strong amount of buyer traffic, and there is still a market for homes to be sold.
